Batch API Suitability Checker
Describe a workload and get a plain verdict on whether it fits the Batch API — suitable, partially suitable, or not — with the dollar saving and the queue-time trade-off.
Get started-
Gives a plain verdict — suitable, partially suitable, or not — with the specific reason, never just a raw percentage to interpret yourself.
-
Splits a mixed workload honestly: names which part is batchable and which isn't, instead of averaging them into one misleading number.
-
States the queue-time trade-off plainly — Batch's turnaround is up to 24 hours, not guaranteed faster, and this tool never hides that behind the discount.
Frequently asked questions
The Batch API processes a set of requests you submit together, asynchronously, at a discount off standard pricing — results can take up to 24 hours, with no faster guarantee. It fits things like overnight report generation or bulk classification, not a live chat where someone is waiting on screen.
Most real workloads mix a live, interactive part with a deferrable, bulk part — for example, live customer replies plus a nightly summarization job. This tool computes the share of volume in each part and gives a verdict and a saving figure for the batchable share specifically, rather than forcing one answer onto a mixed workload.
Batch requires submitting the whole set of requests up front and waiting for them together. If each call needs the previous call's result, you can't know the full set of requests in advance — you'd need to submit and wait for one batch per step in the chain, which usually erases any benefit.
Pricing, including the Batch discount, comes from Costiva's admin-editable price list, shown on this page as "pricing last verified". Always confirm against Anthropic's official pricing page before making a purchasing decision.
